A short guide to Buenos Aires, Foz do Iguazu & Rio

Our Corporate Travel Manager, Brooke Bartl recently went on an 8 day educational, where she visited Buenos Aires, Foz do Iguaza and Rio de Janeiro.

Buenos Aires is a gorgeous city to visit with its European charm and South American flair. It is easy to see why it is such a popular tourist destination.

Must do’s when visiting Buenos Aires?

1) La Boca, is famous for its colourful houses and shop fronts, it is one place every visitor should go. Walk through the beautiful cobblestone strip; see all the local artists in Caminito the towns name means little walkway in Spanish. If shopping and art isn’t your thing you could always see a soccer match. La Bombonera is the home stadium to the world famous Boca Juniors.

2) Tango Dancing, Brooke enjoyed a memorable night at La Ventana where she learnt how to Tango Dance and watched a Dinner Show. “It was amazing and a lot of fun but we struggled with our jetlag as it went well past midnight”.

Belmond Hotel das Cataratas, Foz do Iguaza

Foz do Iguaza is a region bordering on the Argentine city of Puerto Iguassu and is home to the Famous Iguacu Falls. Brooke was lucky enough to stay at the luxurious Belmond Hotel das Cataratas, which is situated next to the massive falls. She described the hotel as being surrounded by lush rainforest, a pastel pink hideaway that grants exclusive access to the national park. “It really is the ultimate jungle getaway!” Jaguars were spotted close to the hotel when they arrived. Unfortunately, she wasn’t lucky enough to get a private viewing but some lucky guests were!

You loved Rio, tell us a little about why it was a highlight?

I love warm weather and it was good to finish the trip with great weather. What’s not to enjoy with Rio’s beautiful beaches! For the summer lover, August was the ideal time of year to travel with temperature highs of 29 degrees.
